Terms of Service

1. Service Overview

​

Island Bridge Logistics provides freight forwarding services from the United States to Jamaica. Customers are assigned a U.S. shipping address to receive packages, which are then transported to Jamaica for delivery or pickup.

​

2. Package Handling & Responsibility

​

✔ Customers are responsible for ensuring all shipments comply with Jamaican import laws.

✔ We are not responsible for delays caused by customs, airlines, or external factors beyond our control

✔ While we take care in handling packages, we are not liable for damage due to improper packaging by the sender.

​

3. Pricing & Charges

​

✔ Shipping rates are calculated based on weight and rounded up to the nearest pound.

✔ Additional charges may apply, including:

        ✔ Customs duties

        ✔ Processing fees

       âœ” Oversized package fees

       âœ” Special handling fees

✔ All applicable charges will be communicated before delivery.

4. Customs & Duties

​

✔ Customers are responsible for all customs duties and taxes imposed by Jamaican authorities.

✔ We do not control or determine customs charges.

​

5. Restricted & Prohibited Items

​

Customers must not ship prohibited or restricted items, including but not limited to:

        ✔ Illegal substances

         âœ” Hazardous materials

         âœ” Weapons or ammunition

         âœ” Any item restricted by Jamaican customs

We reserve the right to refuse or dispose of prohibited items.

6. Delivery

​

✔ Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary.

✔ Free delivery may be available within select areas.

✔ Customers may be required to pick up packages if outside delivery zones.

​

7. Payments

​

✔ Full payment must be made before delivery or pickup.

✔ Accepted payment methods will be communicated to customers.

​

8. Loss or Damage

​

✔ Claims for lost or damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receipt.

✔ Compensation (if applicable) will be determined at our discretion.

​

9. Account Responsibility

​

✔ Customers are responsible for using their assigned shipping address correctly.

✔Incorrect or incomplete information may result in delays.

​

10. Storage Fees and Unclaimed Packages

✔ Customers are expected to collect or arrange delivery of their packages within seven (7) calendar days after being notified that the package is ready.

✔ Packages not collected within this period will incur a storage fee of JMD$150 per package per day.

✔ Storage fees will begin on the 8th day and continue for up to fourteen (14) additional days.

✔ If a package remains unclaimed for more than twenty-one (21) days from the date of notification (7 days free + 14 days storage), Island Bridge Logistics Ltd. reserves the right to:

        âœ” Sell the package or its contents to recover outstanding shipping, customs, storage, and administrative fees; or

         âœ” Dispose of the package if the contents are perishable, prohibited, or have little commercial value.

✔ Any proceeds from the sale will first be applied to amounts owed to Island Bridge Logistics Ltd. Any remaining balance, if any, may be refunded to the customer upon written request and proof of ownership.

✔ Island Bridge Logistics Ltd. shall not be liable for any loss resulting from the sale or disposal of unclaimed packages.

 

11. Changes to Terms

​

Island Bridge Logistics reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
